How can Christmas bring HOPE TO A WEARY WORLD?

The lyrics to the song Oh Holy Night read…

Oh holy night
The stars are brightly shining
It is the night of our dear savior's birth
Long lay the world in sin and error, pining
'Til He appeared and the soul felt it's worth

A thrill of hope, the weary world rejoices
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn'
Fall on your knees, oh, hear the Angels' voices
Oh, night divine, oh, night when Christ was born
Oh, night divine, oh, night, oh night divine
There is no doubt this WOLRD IS WEARY! You may be experiencing weariness for multiple reasons such as COVID-19, political unrest, social injustice, marriage and family issues, or trying to survive financially this Christmas!
BUT…in the midst of all the WEARINESS we can REJOICE because there is A THRILL OF HOPE found in birth of Jesus Christ the Son of God. Jesus is the HOPE for a WEARY WORLD.

Isaiah 9:6
“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”

Jesus wants to be your PRINCE OF PEACE in this WEARY WORLD! So, what must you do to invite Jesus in as your PRINCE OF PEACE?

Acts 2:38 says… “Repent [change your old way of thinking, turn from your sinful ways, accept and follow Jesus as the Messiah] and be baptized, each of you, in the name of Jesus Christ because of the forgiveness of your sins…and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” [AMP]
The moment you receive Jesus Christ, you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit, which is God’s Spirit living within you. Only then will you find rest from the WEARINESS of this world…This is definitely the best gift you will ever receive!

Your journey toward a life in Heaven that will be free of the WEARINESS OF THIS WORLD, begins when you take these three steps . . .
1. ADMIT that you’ve sinned against God by doing things that displease him like lying or stealing, etc.
The Bible says that “All have sinned; all fall short of God’s glorious standard.” (Romans 3:23) We cannot please God through our own good works: “Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.” (Ephesians 2:9) Jesus himself said that we must “turn from our sins and turn to God.” (Matthew 4:17).

E that Jesus died in your place.
Jesus died in your place, taking the punishment that you—we all—deserve (Romans 5:8). Three days later He rose from the dead to conquer the power of sin and death so that you could have new life (Romans 6:4-5).

3. COMMIT your life entirely to Jesus and to following Him.
“If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord . . . you will be saved,” (Romans 10:9)
If you are ready to receive rest from the WEARINESS OF THIS WORLD, we encourage you to put your faith in Jesus Christ by saying this prayer or praying something similar in your own words:

Jesus, I admit to you that I’m a sinner and I choose to turn from my old ways right now and trust you to save me from the punishment of my sin. I believe you paid for my sins when you gave your life on the cross for me and l am asking you to forgive me and make me a new person. Today, I commit myself to following you! Please, come into my life by your spirit so I can live a WEARY FREE life in Heaven someday. In Jesus Name! Amen!

If you prayed this prayer and truly meant it then you have been born again and will spend eternity in God’s kingdom someday!

John 3:3 says, “…Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
